Genevieve "Jennie" Chilton, 75, of Beardstown died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
She was born Dec. 8, 1925, in Schuyler County, the daughter of James and Leila Bates Martin. She married Orvy McCoy Jr. in 1944 in Beardstown. He preceded her in death.
She later married Herschel Chilton on Aug. 4, 1984, in Beardstown. He died Sept. 3, 1994.
Surviving are one son, Terry McCoy of Browning; two daughters, Nancy Prucha of Lockport and Brenda Powell of Palatine; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She worked at Jacksonville Elks Club, Virginia Country Club, Illini Restaurant and had managed Riverview Dry Cleaners.
She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown.
Services were held Saturday at Sager Funeral Home. Burial was in Messerer Cemetery near Frederick.
