Aileen Cox, 83, of Canton, died at 3:58 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born Sept. 5, 1914, in Summum, a daughter of Clement and Daisy Houston Harmon. She married Ralph J. Cox on Sept. 16, 1935, in Chicago. He died Aug. 10, 1975. She also was preceded in death by one sister.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald of Canton and Larry of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; two daughters, Charlotte Buell and Marianne Gumbel, both of Canton; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lloyd Harmon of Canton.
She was a retail clerk for Montgomery Ward & Co. in Santa Ana, Calif., for 30 years. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Services were held Saturday at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home with Rev. Delmar Smith officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to her church or the American Diabetes Association.
