H. Wendell Coakley

H. Wendell Coakley, 72, of Industry, died at 4:17 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 1997, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born March 4, 1925, in Table Grove, a son of Ward and Ruth Stoneking Coakley. He married Anna Lea Heffner on Oct. 2, 1943, in Macomb. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mary Kathryn “Katie” Icenogle of Blandinsville and Ruth Ann Dildine of Industry; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Wilma Mason of Macomb, Verna Mae Rowland of Industry and Betty Hodges of Macomb; one brother, Donald Coakley of Industry; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, one brother and one grandson.

A resident of the Industry area most of his life, he was a farmer and painter for more than 30 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Industry Assembly of God Church and had attended the Nazarene Church in Macomb.

Services were held Saturday at the Nazarene Church in Macomb with Rev. Larry Abbott officiation. Burial was in Industry Cemetery.

Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Industry Rescue Squad or the Nazarene Church in Macomb.
