CLYDE C. CHENOWETH

VeteranClyde Chenoweth

Clyde C. Chenoweth, 93, of Avon, formerly of Table Grove, died at 5:25 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 1996, at Avon Nursing Home.

He was born Jan. 29, 1903, near Table Grove, a son of Charles W. and Amanda Hamm Chenoweth.

Surviving are one brother, Charles Chenoweth of Santa Maria, Calif.; five nephews; and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

After attending Knox College for two years, he taught in rural schools near Table Grove until 1930. He then worked at Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria and later Joliet, retiring in 1965. A World War II Army veteran, he served in the India and Burma theaters and was a member of the 497th Engineers.

Graveside services were held Saturday at Harris Cemetery in Table Grove with Rev. James Shirley officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava was in charge of arrangements.
