Dorothy E. Cox, 91, of Bel-Wood Nursing Home in Peoria County, formerly of Canton, died at 10:10 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 1995, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born Oct. 23, 1903, in Astoria, the daughter of John C. and Lizzie Bubb Danner. She married Charles Cox on June 24, 1921, in Macomb. He died Feb. 27, 1965.
Surviving are three sons, Don of Centralia, Merle of Rockford and Virgil of Decatur; one daughter, Melba Knight of Peoria; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great, great-grandchildren.
She was a former member of Ladies of the Moose Lodge 784.
Funeral services were held Monday at Oaks Hines Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Knight (her grandson) officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.
