Helen N. Chenoweth, 74, of Galesburg, died at 12:35 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 1995, at her home.
She was born Aug. 20, 1920 in Vermont, a daughter of Lewis and Edna Stoops Vaughn. She married Virgil Chenoweth, Sr. on Dec. 6, 1939, in Keokuk, Ia. He died on Sept. 9, 1994. One brother and two sons also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Virgil Chenoweth, Jr. of Watertown, Mass.; and one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Beverly) Sayrs of Cameron; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and lived in Fulton County most of her life, moving to Galesburg eight years ago.
Funeral services were held Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Galesburg with Rev. David Seitz officiating. Burial was in the Vermont Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
