William R. Camp Of Astoria Dies

William R. "Bill" Camp, 56, of Astoria, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 1984, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield following an illness of several years duration.

He was born Aug. 15, 1927, in Beardstown, a son of Maurice and Bonnie (France) Camp. He was married to Mary Wickham on Aug. 12, 1951, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Michael W. Camp and Andy Camp, both of Astoria; two daughters, Mrs. Pete (Dee) Egleton and Miss Laurie Camp, both of Astoria; and four grandchildren.

He operated a gas station in Astoria and worked as an agent for Kemper Insurance Co. He was a member of the Fulton County Board, was a former mayor of Astoria, secretary of the Fulton County Fair Board, Young Democrats of Fulton County, and the Astoria Christian Church.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. this afternoon at the Astoria Christian Church with Rev. Jim Comstock officiating.

Cremation rites will be accorded and burial plans will be announced later.

Memorials may be made to the Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad.
