Edward Curless Dies at 67

Edward A. Curless, 67, of Granite City, formerly of Centralia, died Friday, July 22, 1983, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Granite City following an extended illness.

Mr. Curless was born in Browning, the son of Earl and Lena (Anderson) Curless. He married Maxine Miller, who survives.

A retired trainmaster for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad in Granite City, he had resided in Granite City since moving there from Centralia in 1942. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Also surviving are his son, Gerald Allen Curless of Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren.

Private graveside services were held on Tuesday in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia with Rev. Paul Lockhart officiating.

Attending the services from Astoria were Doris and Cheryl Welker. Mrs. Welker was a cousin of Mr. Curless.
