Clyde Chambers Of Mt. Sterling Dies

Clyde J. Chambers, 69, of Mount Sterling, died early Saturday at Culbertson Hospital in Rushville.

He was born in Summum Jan. 9, 1901, a son of John and Jennie Barnes Chambers. He was married April 22, 1920 to Irene Pate. She died Dec. 24, 1928. On Jan. 5, 1930 he married Ruth Stacker.

Surviving are his widow; a son, Delbert A. of North Pekin; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley De Witt of Quincy; five grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Reba Danner and Mrs. Twila Russell, both of Astoria.

Mr. Chambers was a former employee of Caterpillar Tractor Co., East Peoria.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home, Astoria with Paul Brubeck officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
