Mrs. Perry Conn Dies In Pekin

Mrs. Gaye Welker Conn, 63, funeral home attendant of 310 Catherine St., Pekin, died at 6 p.m. Saturday in Pekin Public Hospital. She collapsed Saturday noon in the Noel Funeral Home, where she had been employed for 26 years.

She was born in Fulton County March 31, 1897, the daughter of Morgan and Emma Smith Welker. She was married to Perry Conn in Havana Oct. 26, 1916. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Gold Star Mothers.

Surviving are her husband and a brother, Loy Welker of Havana. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a son, Max, who died in World War II while serving as an Air Force pilot over France.

Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Noel Funeral Home. Burial was in Lakeside cemetery.

Attending funeral services from here were Mr. and Mrs. Max Welker, Mrs. Charlie Butler, Mrs. Hazel Welker, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hoke and Mr. and Mrs. Merle McLaren.
