Gibson B. Clanin, 87, Dies Monday

Gibson B. Clanin, 87, lifetime resident of Ipava, died at 9 p.m. Monday in the Mason District Hospital at Havana, following several months of illness.

Mr. Clanin, a retired farmer, was well-known in the vicinity. He was born Sept. 11, 1872 in Bernadotte township, a son of Perry and Lila (Hellyer) Clanin. He was married to Phenie Wickert, who survives, June 30, 1939.

He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Ella Graham, of Ipava. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Christian church in Ipava.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. E. E. Clanin, of Isabel and the Rev. Forrest Wise, pastor of the Christian church, at the church in Ipava.

Burial will be in Ipava cemetery.
