Peoria, Ill., Dec. 23 — Edward Canaday, 48, and Mrs. Rebecca Canaday, 43, an estranged couple, are dead today following an argument Saturday night in front of a tavern.
Coroner Harold F. Diller said Canaday had shot his wife three times and then fired a bullet thru his own temple. A witness to the slaying, Walter McFarland was struck in the wrist by one of the bullets.
The couple had been married a year, Diller said, but separated last May.
