Death of Edgar Henry Cortney

IPAVA — Edgar Henry Cortney died Wednesday night at 5 o’clock at his home in the Washington vicinity near Ipava, after a brief illness at the age of 67 years, 3 months and 20 days.

Mr. Cortney was the son of Richard and Jane Cortney and was born in Canton, Ill., July 17, 1873. They are the parents of a son, Ralph of Cuba and two daughters, Mrs. W. W. Parry and Mrs. Charley Purchase, both of Astoria. Mr. Cortney was a well respected man.

The funeral services were held from the Fisk Memorial Chapel Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock, the Rev. E. E. Catlin officiating. Mrs. Joseph Robinson sang with Mrs. Edward Gray at the piano. Interment in the Ipava cemetery.
