Harry Choate, well known old-time actor, died recently in a hospital at Los Angeles, Calif. Mr. Choate and his second wife, who was Mary McMechan, of Carthage, had been engaged in putting on home talent plays. They operated over a wide territory, and had their headquarters at Carthage. They went to California a few months ago to spend the winter. In the heyday of his theatrical career Harry and Mattie Choate were well known throughout this part of the state. Both were fine actors.
