IPAVA — Samuel Clemens, aged 76, the last of a family of seven, died at his home in Lewistown, Friday, May 23 after suffering a stroke of paralysis more than a week ago from which he never regained consciousness.
November 8, 1879, he was married, his wife preceding him in death more than a year ago. He was born and raised near Ipava are sons. Mrs. Belle Hammond of Smithfield is a daughter, as is Mrs. Harry Southwood of Lewistown. Harry Clemens of Lewistown and Guy Clemens of Canton are sons.
The family moved from here to Lewistown some seventeen years ago.
