JOHN FISHER CODLING

Obituary

IPAVA — John Fisher Codling was born in North Ranceby, Lincolnshire, England, June 17, 1854 and died March 11, 1930, aged 75 years, 8 months and 24 days. Early an orphan, he was adopted by Mary Ann Rose and with her, came to America when 12 years of age. In 1876 he became a naturalized citizen of the United States and has lived in Ipava 50 years, a friend to everyone and everyone his friend.

In 1890 he was united in marriage to Miss Ella Hall who with the five children born to them, survive: Mrs. Zena Barnes and Gomer of Ipava; Verbal of Chicago; Olin of Davenport and Weldon of Detroit. Two little grandsons, Donald and Phillip Codling of Davenport, survive also.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church at 2:00 o’clock Wednesday, Rev. J. G. Fouts, officiating.
