George Clark is presumed to be the name of a man who died Monday afternoon of last week in the Beardstown jail. He had sought shelter in the jail on the day previous and after his death a search of his clothing failed to reveal anything to identify him but a brother knight of the road said his name was Clark and that he resided in Keokuk, Iowa. Burial was in the Beardstown cemetery.
