GRACE CATRON

Grace Catron

IPAVA — On Monday afternoon Bruce Catron received word that his niece, Miss Grace Catron, aged 15 years, 8 months, 12 days, youngest daughter of Bailey Catron, had been drowned that morning at Cadillac, Mich., where they are living. The remains were brought to Ipava Tuesday evening from Cadillac, Mich., for interment. The body was taken to the home of her aunt, Mrs. Jos. Brockley. Miss Catron met her death by drowning in one of the lakes near Cadillac, Mich. She with her sister were rowing and Miss Grace decided she would drop from the rear of the boat, hold on with her hands and learn to swim. Her hold broke and she sank. The sister was unable to aid her and she soon drowned. They drove thru to Cadillac about a month ago and expected to return to their home in Springfield about the 20th of this month, little realizing the sorrow that awaited them in their homecoming.
