HENRY JAMES CRAFTON

Obituary

Henry James Crafton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Crafton was born at Browning, Ill., Mar. 16, 1866 and departed this life at the St. Francis hospital, Macomb, Ill., Mar. 19, 1929, being aged 54 years and 3 days old. In 1887 he was united in marriage to Laura Warren. To this union was born 9 children, Clarence, Willie, Frank, Annabelle and Jimmie of Browning, Earle and Wayne of Beardstown and Ansel and an infant daughter who preceded their father to the “Great Beyond.” He also leaves three brothers, Wm. of Pekin, Edd of Adair, John of Okla., and a sister, Mrs. May Phillips of Pekin, also a host of friends and relatives who mourn the untimely departure of a kind friend and neighbor. He is the fifth child out of a family of 9, who has been called upon to pay the last great debt.

Henry has been seriously afflicted for the last two years and for the past month has been an inmate of St. Francis hospital, Macomb. while there he had the best medical skill and attention that could be procured, and the loving care of his entire family, but to no avail. He knew the time was near when the Death Angel would call him and he expressed himself as being ready and willing for the call. Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 at the M. E. church conducted by Rev. Flavel Anderson. Interment in Bader cemetery.

The bereaved wife and children wish to express their sincere thanks to the friends and neighbors for the kindness and sympathy shown them thru the illness and after the death of their dear husband and father.
