VeteranSamuel Campbell

LEWISTOWN — Samuel Campbell, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of this locality, died at his home about three miles northeast of town Christmas night. He was born in Woodford county, Kentucky, July 21, 1830. He came with his parents to Fulton county in 1836. They settled on a farm three miles east of Lewistown, and the deceased has lived there ever since. He was a soldier in the Civil War. Mr. Campbell leaves a wife and five children, all highly respected and prominent church members. The funeral was held Sunday morning, taking the place of the regular service, at the Presbyterian church. Rev. J. A. McGaughey officiated.
