Bud BurgettDallas “Bud” Burgett, 86, of Havana died at 4 p.m. July 31, 2024, at his home.

He was born March 21, 1938, in Havana, a son of Chester and Margaret Smith Burgett. He married Rosemary Bridges on March 19, 1957, in Havana. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Debbie (and Chris) Bishop of Havana, DeEtta (and Carl) Martorana of South Gulf Cove, Fla., and David (and April) Burgett of Astoria; one brother, Chester L. “Jr.” Burgett of Havana three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Fawcett and Rosalyn “Nean” Bridges; and one infant sister.

He attended church services at Havana Assembly of God. He worked for Caterpillar for 32 years and the City of Havana for 13 years. He and his wife later delivered the Pekin Times in rural Mason County for several years.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge #88 for 50 years.

Funeral services were held Monday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana with Rev. Mike Hopps officiating.

Memorials may be made in Bud’s name to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
