She was born Oct. 27, 1931, in Camden, a daughter of Clifford and Golda Cady Ridings. She married Ralph H. Baxter on March 30, 1951, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2014.
She also was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Erin Bernhard; one brother, Guy Dale Ridings; and one sister, Eva Darlene Christian.
Surviving are three sons, Steven (and Rhea) Baxter of Imperial, Mo., Robert (and Marilyn) Baxter of Tennessee, Ill., and David (and Cindy) Baxter of Macomb; two daughters, Joyce (and Tom) Bernhard of Columbia City, Ind., and Sara (and Gerald) Thompson of Fayetteville, Ark.; one sister, Janice Elaine Gregory of Jacksonville; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Rushville High School and later from Memorial Nursing School in 1951 as a Registered Nurse. She worked at McDonough District Hospital for over 20 years and continued nursing for many years in Mountain Home, Ark.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Dixie Croxton officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
