Rodney Bricker

Rodney BrickerRodney Lee Bricker, 82, died the morning of July 24, 2022, at Renaissance Care Center in Canton.

He was born Feb. 3, 1940, in Astoria, a son of Harry “Raymond” and Viola Hickman Bricker. He married Carolyn Sue Bucher on April 11, 1959. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Renee (and Richard) Dotson of Bayfield, Colo., Rhonda (and Richard) DeJournett of Indianapolis, Ind., and Jason (and Belynda) of Mitchell, Neb.; one brother, Marion (and Minhua) Bricker of Boulder, Colo.; two sisters, Lois (and Joe) Palmer of Vermont and Cheryl (and Harry) Bricker Press; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one infant brother, Jerry Bricker.

They lived in Colorado for many years and owned a TV and appliance business. They returned to the Bricker family farm near Summum for several years before returning to Colorado. Rodney and Carolyn moved to Wyoming before finally retiring to Fulton County to be close to family.

He was a member of Canton Church of the Brethren.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at his church with Pastor Kevin Kessler officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
