Alice Mae Barrett, 91, of Rushville died at 8:56 a.m. Oct. 7, 2021, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Canton, a daughter of Otis and Lela Shawgo Shaw. She married Charles Richard “Doc” Barrett on Nov. 19, 1950, in Canton. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2002.
She also was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Denise Barrett; and two brothers, Juni Shaw and Donald Shaw.
Surviving are two sons, Gordon Barrett and Jeff Barrett, both of Rushville; one daughter, Amy Engelbrecht of Littleton; one sister, Helen Stangle of Enterprise, Kan.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was a member of Shields Chapel Church in Canton and the Schuyler American Legion Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Rob Kirkham officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.
