Robert “Mat” Brown

Robert “Mat” Brown, 83, died at 1:28 a.m. July 27, 2021, in Kewanee.

He was born March 5, 1938, in Peoria, a son of Robert and Margaret Mathis Brown. He married Linda Glover on Sept. 16, 2013. She survives.

Also surviving are one stepson, Gary Waldo Jr. of Sunnyland; two stepdaughters, Marcella Waldo of Peoria and Deborah (and Jon) Adkins of Astoria; one sister, Jeane Palmer of Colorado; one brother, William Brown of Peoria; seven step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son.

He was a graduate of Peoria High School. He served his country in the Army.

He worked for Cilco for many years before retiring. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Peoria.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Peoria.
