He was born April 20, 1940, in Havana, a son of Delford and Loreta Gilmore Boggs. He married Lola D. Rains on June 4, 1965, in Quincy. She preceded him in death on Oct. 15, 2014.
He also was preceded in death by one brother, Denny Boggs.
Surviving are two children, Charlie (and Angie) Boggs of Lewistown and Bobette (and John) Massaglia of Pekin; two brothers, Roland (and Patty) Boggs of Maryland and Kevin (and Sue) Boggs of Blue Mound; one sister, Betty (and Garry) Gorsuch of Sebring, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
He was a retired brick mason and a member of the Bricklayers Union. He was a member of Lewistown First Presbyterian Church, Ipava Masonic Lodge and Sons of the American Legion.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown, where visitation will be held two hours prior to services. Social distancing and face masks will be required. Cremation will be accorded after the service. A private inurnment will be held at the Ipava Cemetery.
