Dr. James V. Burch, 61, of Lewistown died at 6:45 p.m. Feb. 27, 2020, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
He was born Sept. 17, 1958, in Davenport, Iowa, a son of Harry E. and Clara Norris Burch. He married Lisa K. Gearing on July 4, 1992, in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents of Lewistown; one daughter, Nicole Burch of Davenport, Iowa; two brothers, Thomas (and Kathy) Burch of St. David and Don Burch of Indiana; one sister, Juanita (and Lyndelle) Dennis of Camp Point.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Burch.
He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, with a Doctorate degree. He was the owner of Burch Chiropractic in Lewistown. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lewistown. He also was a member of the Optimist Club of Lewistown and served as treasurer for many years and Illinois Prairie State Chiropractic Association where he also served as treasurer.
A funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at his church in Lewistown with Father David Whiteside officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with a rosary service following visitation at 8 p.m.
