Dawn Root Bronson, 37, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Rushville, died at 3:05 a.m. April 24, 2016, at the Arizona Heart Hospital in Phoenix.
She was born Dec. 7, 1978, in Canton, a daughter of Rick and Rebecca Spears Root. She married Johnathon Lee Bronson on Feb. 22, 2008, in Rivera Maya, Mexico. He survives.
Also surviving are her father, Rick Root of North Fort Myers, Fla.; her mother and stepfather, Becky and Phil Koch of Ripley; one sister, Danielle Barrett of Rushville; grandparents, Don and Mary Root of Rushville and Rose Spears of Beardstown; step grandparents, Charlie and Norma Koch of Mount Sterling; two nieces; one nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, William “Bill” Spears.
She was a 1997 graduate of Rushville High School, where she was a cheerleader for the football team, played volleyball, softball and girls’ basketball and was a member of the drill team. She earned her bachelors degree in finance and a masters degree in international finance from Western Illinois University in Macomb. She worked for Wells Fargo Bank as a credit analyst supervisor for the last 10 years.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Charla Meyers officiating. Burial will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Rushville.
