Vernon Leon Boker, 65, of Rushville, formerly of Meredosia, died at 4:50 p.m. Oct. 24, 2015, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Beardstown.
He was born Sept. 28, 1950, in Ashland, a son of August Edgar and Elizabeth Belle Lerch Boker.
Surviving are one son, Vernon (and companion Margaret Worthington) Boker of Rushville; three sisters, Barbara (and Robert) McDannald of Meredosia, Loretta (and Ed) Shammon of Washington, N.J., and Shirley Pyland of Killeen, Texas; one brother, Edgar Boker of Killeen, Texas; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Geraldine Langley; and one brother, Carl Boker.
He was a truck driver until retirement.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to time of service on Monday. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
