Ruth E. Baughman, 96, of Smithfield died at 7:35 p.m. Dec. 27, 2013, at Clayberg Nursing Home.
She was born May 18, 1917, a daughter of John and Adeline Long Miller. She married James D. Baughman in December of 1935 in Smithfield. He died Oct. 13, 1990.
She also was preceded in death by two daughters and two brothers.
Surviving are two sons, James Ronald (and Jeanie) Baughman of rural Cuba and John Allen (and Diane) Baughman of Cameron; two daughters, Lois (and Creel) White of rural Smithfield and Rita Kaye Baughman of Lebanon, Tenn.; two sisters, Rosalie (and Gordon) Hornbuckle of Murrieta, Calif., and Muriel Van Cleave of Havana; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several step grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and also worked at several area restaurants.
She was of Christian faith.
Services were held Dec. 31 at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Reverend Larry Wright officiating. Burial was in Buckeye Cemetery in rural Smithfield.
