Keith BockwitzKeith Bockwitz, 82, of Rushville died at 4:37 p.m. Jan. 8, 2013, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Oct. 5, 1930, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Fremon and Edith Diggle Bockwitz. He married Karen Unger on June 20, 1971, in San Jose. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Steve (and Penny) Bockwitz of Elk River, Minn.; one daughter, Kyla (and Coulter) Mason of Lewistown; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was a 1948 graduate of San Jose High School and attended Eureka College.

He was the elevator manager of San Jose Co-op and also worked for Bob Albers Construction. He was the parts manager and bookkeeper at Truman Woll Implement also in San Jose. In 1982, his family moved to Rushville, where he later worked as a delivery driver for Roger's Bakery and as clerk at Country Junction Convenience Store.

He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville where he served as custodian for many years.

He was a former volunteer fireman and member of San Jose Lions and Masonic Lodge. For many years, he was the time keeper for San Jose High School basketball team and traveled to state tournaments.

Services were held Saturday at his church with Reverend John Sowers officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
