Harriet Beatty

Harriet "Liz" BeattyHarriet Elizabeth "Liz" Carpenter Beatty, 71, of Rushville died at 2:24 p.m. Nov. 6, 2012, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 11, 1941, in Brown County, Illinois, a daughter of Elzie and Darlene Roberts Carpenter. She first married Lawrence Self in 1964. She later married James Beatty.

Surviving are her children, Robert Cassady, Kimberly Self Moore, Donald (and Teresa) Self, Robert (and Diane) Beatty, Dale (and Beth) Beatty and Randy Beatty, all of Rushville, Genie (and David) Fritschle of LaPrairie and Janell "Metiz" (and Nicolas) Moore Thurman Cervantes of Forest Hill, Texas; two brothers, Gene Carpenter of Taylorville and Bill (and Sue) Carpenter of Maywood, Mo.; two sisters, Margaret Carpenter and Joyce (and Dave) Utter, both of Rushville; 15 grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.

She was a homemaker.

Graveside services were held Saturday at Hughes Cemetery, west of Rushville, with Rev. Joe Tomich officiating. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
