Oleta BlenderOleta Blender, 86, of Rushville died at 7:53 p.m. July 12, 2012, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born Oct. 3, 1925, in Schuyler County, the daughter of Lawrence and Addie Brown Clayton. She married Richard Blender on March 1, 1980, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are three stepdaughters, Elaine Ann (and Mike) Hull of Monmouth, Marilyn Lee (and Rich) Day of Kahoka, Mo., and Karen Skinner (and life partner Ted Schulz) of Rockford; four step grandchildren; and 11 step great-grandchildren.

A graduate of Rushville High School, she first worked as a clerk at Runkle Grocery Store. She then was an operator for Schuyler Telephone. Later, she worked for Pollock Plumbing and Heating in Rushville. She currently worked as a clerk at Suzy Q's, last working in June of this year.

She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville.

Services were held Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Reverend John Sowers officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
