She was born Aug. 31, 1914, in Kewanee the daughter of Lee and Emma Anderson Hayes. She married Quinton Donald Baily on May 22, 1938. He proceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1999.
She also was proceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Sue O'Brien.
Surviving are two children, Quinton Douglas (and Carol) and John "Jack" (and Barb) Hayes; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Kewanee High School in 1932, and attended Western Illinois State Teachers College where she received her bachelors degree in 1936. Immediately upon graduation, she secured a teaching job in Table Grove. She taught in Table Grove/VIT School District for many years.
She was an active member and served as past president of PEO Chapter C, a philanthropic organization that played a role in her life for over 50 years. She also was a member of Table Grove Community Church.
A celebration of life was held Monday at Table Grove Community Church with Reverend Robert Harrison officiating. Burial followed in Table Grove Cemetery. Doddsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb was in charge of arrangements.
