Robyn BowersRobyn Kim Bowers, 44, of Rushville died at 10:43 p.m. Feb. 3, 2011, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

She was born Aug. 16, 1966, in Canton, a daughter of Michael Eugene and Deborah R. Stell Settles. She married James Eugene Bowers on March 23, 1991, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Shelby Ruth Bowers, at home; and one son, Cole Eugene Bowers, at home; mother, Deborah Settles Danner of Rushville; grandmother, Marjorie Vickers of Smithfield; grandfather, Paul Settles of Canton; and one sister, Crystal (and Michael) Thompson of Rushville.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shana Rae Bowers; father, Michael Settles; grandmother, Lois Settles; and grandfather, Lee Stell.

She graduated from Cuba High School in 1984 and attended McMurray College in Jacksonville. She worked at Snyder’s Vaughn Haven Nursing Home in food service; as a secretary and receptionist at EXCEL Corp. in Beardstown; and Rushville High School cafeteria. For the past several years, Robin and her husband owned and operated R & J’s Package Liquor in Rushville.

She was a member of Houston United Methodist Church and Stitches Therapy Sewing Club.

Services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Charla Meyers officiating. Burial was in Rushville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Robyn Bowers Memorial Fund to be established at a later date.
