She was born June 1, 1926, in Marburg/Lahn, Germany, a daughter of Jakob Laucht and Anna Elisabeth Bottner Laucht. She married Homer D. Brown on Dec. 3, 1951, in Friedberg, Germany. He preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1991.
Surviving are two sons, Peter of Rock Island and Norman of Bettendorf, Iowa; two daughters-in-law, Judy (and Peter) and Darvi (and Norman); five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She spent her life supporting her husband in his military and farming careers.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home in Rock Island. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
