She was born Nov. 2, 1972, in Canton, a daughter of Lindell and Cindy Howerter Bainter.
Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Cindy (and Brian) Kumer of Lewistown; her father and stepmother, Lindell (and Sara) Bainter of Lewistown; one daughter, Taylor Bainter at home; one brother, Matthew (and Megan) Bainter of Chillicothe; one sister, Marissa Bainter of Lewistown; and grandparents, James and Doris Case of Peoria, Elva Bainter of Lewistown and Linda Howerter.
She was preceded in death by grandfathers Wayne Bainter and Kenneth Howerter.
She graduated from Lewistown High School in 1990, and later graduated from OSF St. Francis School of Nursing in December 2005, where she received her BSN degree.
She worked as a registered nurse at Children’s Hospital of Illinois at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, and later worked as an operating-room nurse at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was a member of Lewistown Church of the Nazarene.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at her church with Pastor Randy Munson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Michelle Bainter Memorial Fund for her daughter in care of Farmers State Bank in Lewistown.
