Helen BrooksHelen Louise Brooks, 92, of Smithfield died at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 1, 2010, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born May 12, 1918, in Farmers Township, Fulton County, the daughter of Ira C. and Gladys Mae Lovell Wright. She married Dale W. Brooks on June 5, 1936, in Smithfield. He died Aug. 20, 2001.

She also was preceded in death by two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three brothers, one foster grandchild and one son-in-law.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth (and Marilyn) Brooks of Smithfield and Bill (and Mary Jane) Brooks of Cuba; one daughter, Sharon Silvey of Smithfield; three brothers, Clarence (and Mary) Wright of Bushnell, Clayton (and Mary Ruth) Wright of Smithfield and Reverend Dean (and Barbara) Wright of Bath; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was a farm wife.

She was a member of Brock United Methodist Church in Smithfield.

She was a member of Good Sam Camping Club, Farm Bureau and Park Place Estates Comforter Ladies in Texas.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at her church with Reverends Dan Wright and Ardith Corsaw officiating. Burial will be in Baughman Cemetery in rural Smithfield. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba is in charge of arrangements.
