Thomas BakerThomas E. “Tom” Baker, 81, of Rushville, died at 9:30 p.m. July 27, 2010, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born July 3, 1929, in Clayton, a son of Dolph and Marguerite (Roy) Baker. He married Doris Harn on Aug. 2, 1982, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are three stepsons, Marvin (and Sue Ann) Hammack and David (and Juanita) Hammack, both of Astoria and Raymond Hammack of Springfield; 12 step grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one brother, W. Roger Baker; one stepson, Timothy Hollis; and one step granddaughter.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was a saw operator at Clayton Mark Foundry in Vermont for over 40 years, retiring in 1989.

He was a member of Carroll Rankin Post #26 American Legion in Vermont.

Services were held Saturday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor David Hughes officiating. Burial was in Palm Cemetery west of Rushville with military honors conducted by the U.S. Army Burial Detail and Carroll Rankin Post #26 American Legion.
