He was born Oct. 3, 1956, in Moline, a son of James and Virginia Stanley Brown. He married Sharon L. Peterson on July 27, 2007, in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one sister, Cynthia (and John) Tarvin of Arizona; and two children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
He worked for Laborers International Union of North America Local 231 in Pekin and International Union of Operating Engineers Local 520 in Granite City.
He attended New Hope Fellowship Church in Farmington.
Services were held Friday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Thomas Wright officiating. Burial was in Providence Cemetery at rural Lewistown.
