She was born Dec. 16, 1931, in Rushville, a daughter of Hart F. and Mable Gladys Howard Johnson. She married Vail Owen Boyd on Jan. 3, 1952, in Virginia. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1989.
She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Patton and Rosemary Utter.
Surviving are one son, Bill (and Connie) Boyd of Rushville; one daughter, Diana Estes of Rushville; one brother, Beverly H. (and Melba) Johnson of Rushville; one sister, Kathy (and Mike) Emerick of Quincy; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was a lifelong housewife and farmed with her husband.
She graduated, later in life, from Spoon River College as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1982.
She was a member of Rushville First United Methodist Church.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Pichaske officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery.
