Vilda M. Berry, 85, a resident of Heartland Healthcare Center in Canton, formerly of Lewistown and Canton, died at 1:30 a.m. Dec. 4, 2009, at the care center.Vilda M. She was born May 19, 1924, in Ipava, a daughter of Ralph and Bessie Shawgo Groff. She married William D. Berry on Dec. 17, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. He died Dec. 15, 1997.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are three daughters, Phyllis (and Ron) Stout of Lewistown, Darlene (and Ed) Allison of Woodstock, Ohio, and Patricia (and Doc) Ford of Georgetown, Texas; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She worked for Dr. Harry Burch DC, in Lewistown and was a saleslady for Avon.
She was a member of Lewistown VFW Auxiliary.
Services were held Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Pastor Randy Munson officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.
