Kile G. Brooks, 79, of Bryant died at 7:28 a.m. April 18, 2009, at his home.

He was born Aug. 17, 1929, in Fulton County, a son of Glen and Jessie Howarth Brooks. He married Betty Mason on July 11, 1962, in Camdenton, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Larry (and Debbie) Ryan of Canton; four daughters, Dena Vaughn of Merrimack, N.H., Debra (and Mike) Duckwiler of Summum, Pam (and Larry) Tippey of Lewistown and Cindy (and Harvey) Riggins of Havana; one sister, Ola (and Donald) Adcock of Abingdon; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953.

He was a pipe fitter for 32 years at Keystone and retired in 1986. He also farmed at rural Bryant for many years.

He was a member of Bryant United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and Red Brand Union.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Sidney Davis Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Maryville Cemetery with military services conducted by Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and Lewistown American Legion Post 1. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the memorial home.
