Kim BlackKim M. Black, 55, of Smithfield, died at 4:40 a.m. Jan. 26, 2009, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Canton.

He was born Oct. 10, 1953, in Canton, the son of Ronald E. and Patricia A. Marshall Black.

Surviving are his mother of Cuba; and one daughter, Tia (and Michael) Stewart of Geneseo.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Jo Thompson; and two grandchildren.

He farmed on the family farm in the Seville area for 32 years. He also was a heavy machine operator, and had worked at International Harvestor Canton Works.

He was a member of Cuba United Methodist Church, and Mid Central Operating Engineers.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at his church with Rev. Ardith Corsaw officiating. Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba is in charge of arrangements.
