Zelma Bell
Zelma Fawn Bell, 100, formerly of Cuba, died April 7, 2008, in Kingsport, Tenn.
She was born April 27, 1907, in Cuba, a daughter of William K. and Sara Ellen Swearengen Phillips. She married Virgil W. Bell on June 3, 1925, in Canton. He died April 7, 1979.
She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Helen Ferchau and Donna Hazelhurst; five brothers and one sister.
Surviving are seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Brenda “Boy Scout” Ford.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Cuba United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors, Pinnocle SLT and a lifelong member of Order of Eastern Star.
Services were held Friday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Ardith Corsaw officiating. Burial was in Cuba Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to her church’s youth group.
