Floyd BucklesFloyd Buckles, 87, of Lewistown died at 4:35 a.m. Jan. 1, 2008, at Graham Hospital extended care in Canton.

He was born April 14, 1920, in Isabel Township, Fulton County, the son of Harry and Violet Eveland Buckles. He married Betty L. Bollinger on Oct. 30, 1950, in Macomb. She died May 26, 2004.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Lewistown VFW Post 5001, Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1 and UAW.

He retired from Caterpillar where he had worked at the proving grounds.

Services were held Friday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Bill Bunnage officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with military rites conducted by his VFW and legion posts.

Memorials may be made to the Illinois Masonic Childrens Home.
