Paul BighamPaul Clare “Dutch” Bigham, 85, of Quincy, formerly of Rushville, died at midnight March 13, 2007, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

He was born Aug. 14, 1921, in Rushville, a son of Ira J. and Mabel DeVinney Bigham. He married Marjorie L. Dace on Dec. 21, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. She died Aug. 10, 2001.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Frederick, who died in infancy, and Robert William “Bill.”

Surviving are two sons, Jeff (and Darlene) and Danny (and Lisa), both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two daughters, Carol (and Larry) Johnson of Germantown, Md., and Wendy (and Paul) Fleck of York, Pa.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, serving from July 29, 1942, to Oct. 11, 1945.

He was a lifelong electrician.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Rushville and IBEW Local #34 in Peoria.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at his church with Rev. Ann Kelson officiating. Inurnment will be in Rushville City Cemetery. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
