Jerry Belville, 68, of Beardstown died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born October 23, 1936, in Browning, a son of Glen and Elva Newell Belville.

Surviving are one son, Jeffrey (and Tonya) of Banner; two brothers, Robert (and Mary Lou) of Astoria and George (and Lyn) of Beardstown; four sisters, Iola (and Carl) Stoneking, Donna (and Jack) Thurman and Bonita Hill, all of Beardstown, and Betty Briney of Browning; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Edith Dowler; and two brothers, Roy Belville and Raymond in infancy.

A member of Fairview American Legion Post 644, he was an Army veteran, serving in Korea from April 1960 until March 1966.

He worked for Midland Coal Co. in Farmington for 26 years, retiring in 1989.

He was a member of Vermont Masonic Lodge 116, AF&AM, in Vermont.

He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Beardstown.

Services were Saturday at Sager Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Barnes officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery in Browning.
