Frances ButlerFrances Ruth Butler, 89, of Mount Sterling, died at 6:15 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2003, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mount Sterling.

She was born June 30, 1913, in Ipava, a daughter of Leldis Everett and Lucretia Mae Widner Weese. She married Wilson Butler on Jan. 5, 1939, in Palmyra, Mo. He died Aug. 25, 1980.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Richard Butler; two brothers, Floyd and Vernon Weese; and two sisters, Hazel Wilson and Mary Lee.

Surviving are two sisters, LaFerne Meservey of Mount Sterling and Lois Smallwood of Tacoma, Wash.; one daughter-in-law, Linda Edwards of Mount Sterling; two grandchildren, Chris Fairbanks of Timewell and Teresa Butler of Mount Sterling; and one great-granddaughter, Kasaundra Rice of Timewell.

She worked as a nurse's aide for Barker Nursing Home and Heritage Manor Nursing Home, both in Mount Sterling.

She attended Astoria Schools and was a member of a non-denominational religion.

Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Hendricker Funeral Home in Mount Sterling with Ryan White and Dan Wisecup officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Mount Sterling City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Brown County High School music department or to Brown County youth baseball.
