Mary L. Bartruff, 77, of The Dalles, Ore., died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at her home.
She was born May 5, 1925, in Moline, the daughter of Lloyd and Agnes Rutherford Bishop. She married Wallace Bartruff in McMinnville, Ore., in 1948. He died in 1986.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Gwen Bartruff Van Horn, in 2000.
Surviving are one son, Daniel (and Vicki) of The Dalles; one daughter, Carol Hollis of Washougal; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Edmund (and Donna) Bishop of The Dalles.
She graduated from Vermont High School in 1943 and went on to study nursing in Chicago. She was a registered nurse, and had worked at The Dalles General Hospital and Mid-Columbia Medical Center.
No public services will be held. Cremation was accorded and a private family service was held. Columbia Cremation & Burial was in charge of arrangements.
